The project follows activists on the protests in Hong Kong against the Beijing-influenced administration under Carrie Lam, the protests in Chile against social inequality in the country and in Uganda at the local Fridays for Future protests and actions for climate justice.

“A FILM ABOUT THE NEXT GENERATION, MADE BY THE NEXT GENERATION”
"The things I'm doing now, protesting in a movement and striking for democracy is way more important than saving money, or having a boyfriend, or having a family ... A relationship is nothing compared to a protest, a movement, or a democracy. I don't think I can return to my old life anymore; you took up these responsibilities and you can't really go back."
PEPPER
"I am the voice of the dying children, displaced women, and people suffering at the hands of the climate crisis created by rich countries."
HILDA
"In front of the Chilean presidential palace, there is this huge Chilean flag. It is standing there, right in front of the presidential palace and I think that is wrong. It implicates to visitors that our government is loving its country. Given what's happened in the past months, I refuse to believe that. I believe that the only thing that they really love is themselves."

A few visual impressions of the film
A film about the next generation, made by the next generation.
Dear Future Children is a German-UK-Austrian co-production led by an award-winning team from fifteen countries. We are a young and tight knit group working collaboratively to overcome challenges and achieve our goals. We have a proven track record of making films about social issues, underrepresented communities, and those fighting a stronger power to facilitate change.
Our previous films have been screened at multiple festivals around the world including screenings at the 'Berlin International Film Festival' and the 'European Film Awards'.
This project is backed by a team of committed professionals who are giving their all to make this film as powerful as it can be.
